July in Osaka brought intense summer sunshine and a lively atmosphere throughout the city, especially with the Osaka Kansai Expo now underway. Despite the heat, travelers from around the world arrived at Mitsuwaya to enjoy the unique blend of local tradition and warm hospitality.This season is full of summer festivals. From the Bon Odori at the elementary school right in front of us to nearby events like the Kozu Shrine Festival, Aizen Festival, Ikutama Festival, and the famous Tenjin Festival, the sounds of taiko drums echoed through the streets almost every weekend.Many guests put on yukata, tried Japanese street food, and joined in the celebrations. Some even said with surprise, “I never expected to experience a real Japanese festival.” It was a pleasure to watch guests immerse themselves in Osaka’s summer culture.The daytime heat may have been intense, but as evening came, our cool common area offered a relaxing space where guests gathered to talk, laugh, and raise a glass together. As always, it was a place full of stories and smiles.This month’s gallery captures those joyful summer moments and the connections that made July special.
