In this page, we introduce daily events which is happen in MITSUWAYA, in the year of 2019!

In 2019, we held “Soccer tournament” for the first time. Many guests participated, not only our guests but also boys living in the neighborhood and residents living in TESEN share house.

They are international couple and newlyweds from last week.

And look at Staff Yuka(lower left)is sister of the bride with perfect smile. This is the smile guys!

Behind newlyweds He is a cousin of the bride we haven’t seen each other for long time.

I can’t stop thinking about this fake family photo.

These photo are quite professional and every staff look like better than real one.

Do you know that?😏 It’s one of the oldest known games to still be widely played today especially in Southeast Asia😊

Good morning, everyone!!

You know what? Christmas is just around the corner😙!!

What is your plan on Christmas Day?

How do you guys spend such a special day in your country?

 

Today, I’m gonna talk about Christmas in Japan🎅🎄🇯🇵

Each countries has really unique Christmas culture and those are so interesting!

Japan also has very unique (and kinds strange) Christmas culture✨

 

🇯🇵Japanese style Christmas 🇯🇵 (※It depends on the people!!)

・WHO do we spend with? →With family, friends, and boyfriend/girlfriend👫👬👭

・WHERE do we spend at? →At home, friends’ house, restaurant…!

・WHAT to eat? →KFC chicken🍗, Christmas cake🍰

 

①Japanese think that Christmas Eve/Christmas Day is the day to spend with their lover😳!

It depends on the people, but many people spend time with their lover especially on Christmas Eve, and spend with their family on Christmas Day👀!

Those people who don’t have lover spend with their family or friends both on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, but they are recognized as “lonely person”(or sometimes “loser”), so many people try hard to get lover until Christmas 😂 Some people enjoy their single life with their friends or family✨

 

②Santa Clause is coming secretly while we are sleeping!

In Japan, children open their Christmas gifts from Santa Clause in the morning on Christmas Day🎁

Children write letter to Santa Clause and put them on the window on Christmas Eve, and “Santa Clause” (their parents🤫) prepare their children’s gifts secretly while they are sleeping😴

In the morning, children get their gifts and open them!

Those moments to write letter, wait for Santa Clause’s coming, and finally find gifts were very exciting and memorable for me☺️! 

 

②Christmas dinner = KFC chicken🍗 and Christmas cake🍰

We usually eat chicken and Christmas cake on Christmas Eve!!

I don’t know why KFC chicken is so famous as Christmas food in Japan, but there are still many people who go to KFC to get chicken on Christmas Eve✨

I think it’s one of the reasons that KFC’s commercials during Christmas season are really good and attractive💖

 

Japanese Christmas cake is also really delicious🍰!!!

I was always excited waiting for my parents’ coming back to my house with holding Christmas cake on that day!! Sometimes my father got Christmas cake from his company!!

 

This is our culture on Christmas season🎅🎄⛄️

At MITSUWAYA, Takoyaki Party is held irregularly. Last time we did Takoyaki Party and 5 person participated. We cooked Takoyaki all together, and we ate together. Sooooo yummy! 

I found I like to do “PARTY PARTY”, but also “International Exchange”.

It was really funny, in Sweden the sun appears only 3 hours and at the same moment in Australia Santa Claus is surfing on the sea!

Hello everyone, The 2nd soccer match was held yesterday at 9am⚽️

There were few types of people

Ex)①Staff Takuya who woke up early to get ready 👍

②A person who had a hangover🤢

And this time some players came from Share house SEN OSAKA!!!

It was soooo good to play under the blue sky☀️ I am struggling with a muscle pain though😭

We will have the 3rd soccer match next month! Please let us know if you want to join us!!!

A lot of runner visit to Mitsuwaya when we have a Osaka Marathon.

Runner from Metherland, Mexico, Taiwan, Hong Kong this year.

We are appreciate to visit here from long distance.😊

And i just realize why people running 42.195km?

It must be tough and hard both physically and mentality.

But people do that as hard as possible.

When i have a grass of beer in my house, They are training for their goal.

After finished the marathon, I look his face.

His face was refreshing beautiful I felt envious.

There is something special there for that could taste after marathon.✨

Just between you and me, but I sometimes sleep with that during break time..🤫

If you stay at our hostel, you need to chill out at the common space at first!

We had 1st Sunday soccer match at Kozu park.

Unfortunately we couldn’t use MITSUWAYA stadium🏟（We decide it to call this pitch where in front out hostel ） 😂

Player No.1 from Islael🇮🇱(Thanks for your time to come here from faraway country)

Player No.2 from kyoto⛩(I know Kyoto is quite tourist area. So there is no space to play soccer)

Player No.3 from Osaka🗾(People from Osaka think we are the capital city of Japan)

Player No.4 from elementary school near by park🕍(I wish I could have a energy like you guys)

 

We have a next match soon.

Beautiful ladies from Tokyo! I enjoyed talking with them about the difference between tokyo and osaka. What do you think it is? We think one of them is people!They found it after the lady talked to them to chat on the street in Osaka(＞▽＜) (She is completely stranger to them) We have many guests traveling in tokyo and osaka. Might be fun to see the differences between them!^^

2 Korean girls stayed at MITSUWAYA 8 nights! At first, I thought that they are a little bit shy, but we said each other “Good morning””Good night” everyday, then I felt that the distance was getting shorter.

When they checking out, I couldn’t say goodbye..

But they left such nice letters!!! 감사합니다!! 또 만나요!!

Hey summer! I am doing Uchimizu every afternoon. Uchimizu is the old Japanese custom of sprinkling water in streets and gardens with a ladle. Actually I am using a hose. It’s doesn’t matter. I don’t know where i can buy a ladle. Seven Eleven didn’t sell it. Anyway you will feel more cool after doing Uchimizu for sure. Unfortunately it happen just few minutes. Because too hot in Osaka. But we must have a rainbow.

There is not only guest from foreign country, but also Japanese guest. Sometimes Japanese guest are shy, and they think that they cannot speak English, so it might a little bit hard to talk with Japanese.

But I believe they want to talk with guests from all over the world, and they are really interested in you guys!

Last time, one Japanese guest stayed at MITSUWAYA, he is professional artist. He held his own gallery nearby. When he come back to MITSUWAYA, he drew my portrait. It was first time for me, so I was really happy!

After that, I drew his portrait in return. I’m not sure that I did well or not, but I hope he were happy as well.

When you come to Mitsuwaya, please try to talk with Japanese guest as well. Even if they speak English a little bit, you can find wonderful encounter.

The other day we held movie night in MITSUWAYA.  They want to watch Game of thrones. Then i saw it with 15people.  I looked so everyone enjoying it. I got into Game of thrones these days.
